Woman killed when her car was struck by train at crossing in Sagle, Idaho

A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when her car was struck by a BNSF train in Bonner County, Idaho, a BNSF spokesman said. The woman, who wasn’t identified, pulled in front of the engine at a railroad crossing at Heath Lake Road, near Sagle at 4:22 p.m. The intersection was marked with railroad crossing signs and stop signs, and the train sounded its whistle, BNSF said. The train was traveling at 59 miles per hour. None of the train’s crew was injured in the crash.
