Lake Worth drivers concerned about 6th Avenue south Tri-Rail crossing
Residents of Lake Worth are raising concerns over the Tri-Rail crossing at 6th Avenue. WPTV Palm Beach reports that an additional signal delay is causing motorists to take additional risks, despite it being a safety procedure from the rail company itself. The enhanced safety signaling is blamed for causing backups at rush hour, but Tri-Rail has no plans of making a change. Learn more about train accidents here.

A southbound train was unable to stop and plowed into the tractor-trailer, derailing a locomotive and an empty car and sending debris everywhere. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Tue, 03/24/2015A 61-year-old man drove his car through the crossing gate while the train was going by, broadsiding the train, and was thrown to the other side of the road. He suffered minor injuries and the operator of the train suffered cardiac symptoms. The crash caused an oil leak in one of the train cars.
