Police: Speeding driver caused crash with serious injuries - WEAR - ABC

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WEAR) Authorities say a speeding driver caused a crash that seriously injured three people, including a toddler. The crash also caused a traffic backup.According to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, a 2012 silver Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on US Hwy 98 approaching the rear of a 2007 black Honda Accord that was stopped at the stop bar in the inside lane of US Hwy 98 at the intersection of Brooks St.Authorities say the Ford Focus was speeding when it hit the rear end of the Honda Accord. The Honda Accord was pushed through the intersection before it stopped.The Ford Focus went off the road and hit a light pole and a mailbox before it stopped.The driver of the Ford Focus, a 32-year-old white man, was air lifted to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola with serious injuries.The driver of the Honda Accord, a 29-year-old white man, and the passenger, a 2-year-old white female, were taken to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with serious injuries.If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Kendra Stalls at the Fort Walton Beach Police Department at (850) 833-9546.
