At around 8 a.m. a tanker truck was traveling on Highway 82 when one of its axles broke. The truck spilled liquid magnesium chloride, a chemical used to melt snow and ice on roadways, onto the road.
A 2014 Dodge Ram collided with a 2007 Ford Mustang carrying three teenagers on Highway 82 five miles east of Maplesville around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Clanton Advertiser.
A 2003 Buick Century driven by 88-year old Robert Lewis Elmore collided with a 2008 Jeep Liberty at 8:10 p.m. last Sunday on Highway 82 in Coker, Alabama. Elmore was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
