Mourners gather to remember victim of fatal bike crash

A man knelt on the sidewalk in front of the ghost bike to pay his respects. They spilled onto the sidewalk and out onto Forbes Avenue as they gathered around the ghost bike, which they eventually moved across Forbes and chained to a utility pole. Some of her students and colleagues were among those who held candles across from the accident scene. She had been riding her bike home from work about 5 p.m. The mourners gathered around a white-painted "ghost bike" to pay homage to Susan Hicks, whose bicycle was struck in a chain-reaction accident as she waited on Forbes Avenue in front of the music hall to make a left turn onto South Bellefield Street.
