Two Oshkosh sisters killed in crash with semi

The two women had been riding in a van north down I-41, north of County Highway K in Hartford when they collided head-on with a semi-tractor. Their van had crossed the median.

Oshkosh sisters die in Washington County crash

Investigators believe the van was traveling too fast for road conditions which had snow and scattered slippery spots throughout the county.

The 61-year-old driver of the semi was not injured but was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Family members are trying to collect enough money to cover the cost of two funerals and they are hoping for some help. This weekend, the folks at The Salty Dog in Cudahy, are donating 25% of their profits to the Volgmanns.

Lawrence has also established a GoFundMe page for the two.

Sisters who died in crash nearly inseparable

Though 10 years apart in age, sisters Amanda Volgmann and Kara Doran of Oshkosh were nearly inseparable, often spending all day together shopping or just hanging out.
