Kaukauna man seriously injured after crashing into Grand Chute Kwik Trip
It happened just before 9p.m. Thursday night at the Kwik Trip off Mall Dr. south of the Fox River Mall. The 23-year-old driver was the only one in the vehicle. Grand Chute Police tell us that witness on scene thought car was traveling around 100 miles per hour.
Police: Man who crashed into Kwik Trip may have been under the influence
“Grand Chute Police believe the driver may have been operating under the influence of a controlled substance,” says an update from Lieutenant Todd Zolkowski. The crash happened about 9 p.m. Witnesses told police the driver ran a stop light at W. College Avenue and continued northbound on Mall Drive. That’s when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the west side of the Kwik Trip. The store sustained “signficant damage,” police say. The Town of Grand Chute Building Inspector was called to the scene.
