Man in Critical Condition After Taylor County Accident Along Route 50

It happened a little before one in the afternoon Sunday along Route 50 near Thornton Hill. Only one vehicle was involved, but two people were treated. One of them was driven to Ruby. The other was flown to the same hospital.

The Taylor County Sheriff's Department has confirmed to 5 News that Alvin Myers, the man flown from an accident on Route 50 in Taylor County on Sunday, has passed away as a result of his injuries. Deputies said he suffered severe trauma from the crash, in which he most likely hit into the steering wheel after the air bags had deployed.
Alvin Myers was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital but later died as a result of his injuries. Rita Myers was taken to the hospital in fair condition and has since been released. Speeds too high for the wet roads are believed to be the main factor in the crash.
