One person dead, several injured after morning crash in Hanover County

The Hanover County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate after one person was killed and several others were taken to the hospital after a Wednesday morning crash.    Deputies have not identified the victims, but it happened around 8 a.m. on Mountain Road, in the Montpelier section of the county, near Dunn Road. The road was closed for more than five hours as investigators tried to piece together what happened. An SUV was one of the three vehicles involved in the fatal crash on Mountain Road. Investigators with the Hanover County Sheriff's Office say the SUV was traveling east when it crossed the center line and hit the back wheel of an oncoming flatbed tractor trailer. From there, investigators say the tractor trailer hit a car head on, killing that car's driver.

Investigators identify woman killed in head-on Hanover crash

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Hanover investigators identified the woman killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Mountain Road Wednesday as 33-year-old Crystal R. Fix, of Montpelier. The driver of the Peterbilt Tractor was flown to VCU Medical Center for treatment. The Peterbilt Tractor and trailer jack-knifed and collided head-on with a 2015 Mazda 4-door sedan that was also traveling east on Mountain Road.” Fix was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The investigation into the crash is on-going. “We send our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Crystal Fix,” Godfrey said. Hanover woman charged in crash that killed Montpelier driver

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — A Montpelier woman was charged with Reckless Driving in connection to a fatal crash on Mountain Road. The driver of the Peterbilt Tractor was flown to VCU Medical Center for treatment. Investigators said Price was responsible for the crash that killed Crystal R. Fix, 33, of Montpelier. Kendra L. Price, 35, is scheduled to appear in Hanover court November 5. The Peterbilt Tractor and trailer jack-knifed and collided head-on with a 2015 Mazda 4-door sedan [driven by Fix] that was also traveling east on Mountain Road.” Fix was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Sheriff: Driver charged after fatal Hanover crash

Deputies have charged Kendra L. Price, 35, of Montpelier, with reckless driving after a fatal crash in Hanover County. The accident happened near the intersection of Dunn Road and involved a tractor-trailer, an SUV and Fix's car. Crystal R. Fix, 33, of Montpelier, was killed and three others were injured in the crash around 8 a.m. Investigators believe the SUV crossed the center line and hit the rear wheel of the tractor-trailer causing it to jack-knife and crash into Fix's car head-on. Hanover sheriffs released the identity of the driver killed in the crash on Mountain Road, Wednesday morning.

Update: 1 dead, multiple injuries in tractor-trailer crash in Hanover

The trailer jackknifed and collided head-on with a 2015 Mazda sedan that was also traveling east, according to the release. The driver of the Mazda died at the scene. Authorities did not identify the driver pending notification of next-of-kin.
