Texas Department of Public Safety Cpl. John Gonzalez said investigators believe Spann was traveling on U.S. 62/82 a few miles north of Wellman when her Chevrolet Cruze collided with a Saturn SUV as she was heading north in the southbound lane.
The driver of the Saturn, 30-year-old Carlos Beltran of Segraves, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A Chevrolet Camaro was headed south when it ran over debris from the accident, said Gonzalez.
