Bicyclist fatally struck in Pasadena hit-and-run

A man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle that didn't stop in Pasadena last night.Pasadena police say the man was hit in the 4000 block of Spencer Highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Investigators say they found a right side mirror from a Ford of an unknown model and a chrome piece from the frame around the headlight nearby.Pasadena police say the vehicle will have significant damage.Anyone with information should call the Pasadena Police Department.

Police receive leads in deadly hit-and-run accident in Pasadena

Pasadena police said they have leads in the case of a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist dead Sunday morning. The victim, Henry James Vickers III, was riding his bike on the Spencer Highway on Sunday when he was struck. "My little one always asks about his dad," Vickers' wife, Debra Ramirez, said. "'I want to go see daddy, mommy. I want to go see daddy.'" Vickers' family gathered at the scene Monday to appeal for information, when suddenly they got some. "We got a call this morning that these two suspects are willing to pretty much turn themselves in," Vance Mitchell, with the Pasadena Police Department, said.

Family hopes for justice after deadly hit-and-run accident in Pasadena

A family is distraught after a deadly hit-and-run crash in Pasadena that took the life of a bicyclist Saturday night. They came out to the site of the crash on Spencer Highway on Monday hoping to convince the driver to do the right thing. Then they found out about a break in the case.The afternoon began as somber appeal to find those responsible for a deadly hit-and-run accident.Dr. Danny Richards of Refreshing Springs Church said, "Maybe you have knowledge or information about the accident. Maybe even sitting and listening to somebody talk, maybe they gave some information about hitting somebody."But the situation quickly turned into a scene of hope.Pasadena police spokesperson Vance Mitchell said, "Just before you started talking, I got very good news."Police say they got a tip that led them to a suspect vehicle."We're at a point now where we have two suspects who have been identified and hopefully they're going to come in and visit with our detectives," Mitchell explained.Finding peace won't come easy for this family, mourning the loss of their son, father, husband.

Persons of interest in deadly hit-and-run crash fail to talk to police

After meeting with police, the persons of interest changed their minds and left without volunteering any information.Investigators say they will continue gathering evidence in the case and will present their findings to the District Attorney to determine what steps to take next.Henry James Vickers died early Sunday morning while riding his bike down Spencer Highway.Police say the suspect left the scene and so far authorities have not charged anyone in connection with the hit and run.Monday the family held a prayer vigil that was interrupted by police who said they were contacted by someone who wanted to talk about the hit and run.Vickers' family is still mourning his loss."When I get him buried and everything and get these people, I will have complete justice. It's sad the way they did it, because they could have stopped, could have called an ambulance down the road. They didn't have to leave him like that, though. He might have been saved," said Eunice Vickers.Police are not sure if they will have an update later in the day, but if you have any information, investigators still want to hear from you.

PD: Police identify woman who struck, killed bicyclist in Pasadena

Pasadena police said they have identified the hit-and-run driver who killed a bicyclist Sunday morning. Henry James Vickers III 48, was riding his bike along Spencer Highway when a woman struck him with her vehicle. Police questioned the hit-and-run driver before she left the station. "Charges are still pending the outcome of the investigation," said Vance Mitchell, Pasadena Police Department. According to officers, instead of stopping and calling police, the woman took off.

If the women who came to the police station that admitted and took some responsibility it might have made some difference, to lawyer up and make a lame attempt to save her self is another act of irresponsible, now we will ask the DA's office to put the full weight of the law behind this case to get justice for this family.     Dr. Danny Richard Sr.
