Father, son killed by alleged drunk driver in N. Houston

The crash took place at about 2:45 a.m. on the North Freeway and West Road, underneath an overpass 12 miles north of downtown, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Media reports from earlier today showed pictures of a mangled Chevy Suburban, and said that the crash occurred after the driver of a pick-up truck ran a red light.

The mother and 3-year-old son were taken to a hospital. The driver of the pickup truck alleged to have caused the crash was drunk and is facing two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
