Man facing charges after wreck in Conroe that killed 4

Bond set for driver accused in wreck that killed 4 in Conroe

The driver accused of causing a crash in Conroe that killed four people on Sunday is now facing multiple felony charges. Police say that Cooper received a blood test after the crash, but they say his results have not yet been returned to investigators. They were both treated and released from Conroe Regional Medical Center.Cooper was in a Hyundai and suffered minor injuries. Two adults and two children inside a Toyota were killed. They were identified as 49-year-old Roland Sedlmeier, 42-year-old Melinda Sedlmeier, 6-year-old Harley Sedlmeier and 4-year-old Sofie Sedlmeier.The occupants of the Jeep were identified as a 16-year-old male driver and 15-year-old male passenger.

Vigil held for four killed in weekend wreck in Conroe

Roland Sedlmeier, his wife Melinda and 6-year-old Harley and 4-year-old Sofie were killed in a wreck that authorities say was caused by Ronald Cooper, 68, on Sunday.Cooper suffered minor injuries. He was taken into police custody and is now facing four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.

Doctor charged in connection with crash that killed family of 4 in Conroe

A Montgomery County doctor has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash that killed a family of four on Sunday. Rezik Saqer was arrested late last night by the DEA Diversion Investigation Unit and the Conroe Police Department, along with the Montgomery County District Attorney'€™s Office & the Montgomery County Pct. 2 Constables Office. The Sedlmeier family was killed and two teenagers, ages 15 and 16, who were in the Jeep, went to Conroe Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Larry York, who is the senior pastor at the church, told KPRC 2 the family was very active in church activities. Cooper's wife told KPRC 2 "he was crying" when she spoke to him on the phone after the crash.

Community remembers family of 4 killed in wreck

The Sedlmeier family will be buried Saturday in Tulsa, Okla., where the mother, Mendy was born. THE WOODLANDS, Texas '€“ The family of four killed in an awful wreck on Highway 105 near Lake Conroe is being remembered Thursday. The Woodlands was the site where a memorial was being held for the Sedlmeier family. The Sedlmeier family did not. They were on their way home from church as was the driver blamed for the fatal wreck '€“ 68-year-old Ronald Cooper.

Doctor charged in connection with crash that killed family of 4 appears in court

The Montgomery County doctor arrested on multiple charges in connection with a crash that killed a Conroe family appeared in court on Thursday morning. Saqer's attorney said his client is in no way responsible for the car crash that killed the Sedlmeier family last month. Last month, the Texas Medical Board suspended Saqer's license after he was accused of prescribing pills to Ronald Cooper, the driver charged in the deadly Conroe crash. DEA agents and Conroe police later arrested Saqer on multiple charges as well. According to court documents, Cooper was under the influence of multiple drugs prescribed to him by Saqer.

Cooper gets Oct. 10 trial date for fatal crash

Ronald Cooper, 68, got the trial date Wednesday in Judge Kathleen Hamilton’s 359th state District Court. Cooper is currently booked in the Montgomery County Jail with a $460,000 bond.

DUI Driver Sentenced for Killing Family of 4 and Injuring 2 Teens

The Sedlmeier family, of Montgomery, got up for church one Sunday morning in the fall of 2015, never imagining it was their last day on earth.
