Cyclist hit by truck, killed in Blountville
A man riding his bicycle in Sullivan County was struck and killed by a truck Tuesday.

He was a student at Sullivan Central High School in Blountville.

An investigation into the collision is continuing, with charges pending. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident but has yet to speak with police is asked to call the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office at (423) 279-7500.
Eric Badger, 18, was riding his bicycle south on Island Road at about 5:30 p.m. on the very edge of the northbound lane, when a southbound pickup truck driven by James Naimo, 52, for some reason entered the northbound lane and struck the cyclist from behind. Responders pronounced Badger dead at the scene. Naimo was uninjured, but police say that charges are pending as investigation continues.
