Channel 3 has learned that one of the two morning crashes north of Ooltewah has involved a fatality. The crashes have involved multiple vehicles, including semis.

Newman was killed in the crash and the driver of the Volvo - Danny R. Caldwell, 43, of Old Fort - was injured. Traffic on the interstate was stalled for several hours as the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the accident and wrecker crews cleared away the damaged vehicles.
