Passenger killed after scooter crash with deer in Florence County, SCHP says

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)-The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a scooter and deer on Saturday night.

Scooter vs deer causes fatal accident near Florence Saturday, troopers confirm

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) '€“ The South Carolina Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal collision that occurred Saturday, September 19 in Florence County that involved a scooter vs a deer. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the accident happened on Bethea Road at 9:20 p.m. Coroner Todd Hardee said the accident happened near the Darlington/Florence county line and the Bethea Baptist home in Darlington County. The passenger, 66-year-old Randall Simpson, was transported to McLeod hospital and died from his injuries, according to Hardee. A pedestrian died after he was struck by a vehicle Saturday.
