One person was ejected and another was trapped in the wreckage of a head-on crash early Tuesday evening on Route 286 in Westmoreland County. The coroner has been called to the accident scene near Branthoover Lane in Washington Township. The victims have not yet been identified.

Police say 45-year-old Charles Gestrich Jr. was driving east on State Route 286 in Washington Township. He crossed the center line into the opposite lane and hit a SUV. Gestrich was partially ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
