Victim ID'd in hit-and-run near West Chester University

A man is hospitalized in serious condition after a hit-and-run accident near West Chester University.The victim is identified as 21-year-old Sayid Murphy of Philadelphia.The accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block of South High Street just south of Rosedale Avenue in West Goshen Township.Murphy was taken to Paoli Hospital.It is not clear at this time if the victim is a student.The university was celebrating homecoming on Saturday.Police say the striking vehicle, possibly a dark colored Chrysler Town & Country, was observed fleeing the scene headed southbound on South High Street.Police say the minivan will have damage to the driver's side and will be missing the driver's side mirror.

Hit-Run Leaves Man, 21, Badly Injured in West Chester

The striking vehicle, possibly a dark-colored Chrysler Town and Country, was seen fleeing the scene headed south on South High Street toward Route 202. A hit-run in West Chester left a 21-year-old man seriously injured, and police are seeking the public's help to track down the driver responsible. Sunday and found the victim, identified as 21-year-old Sayid Murphy of Philadelphia, lying in the center turn lane of South High Street. The car will have damage to the driver’s side and will be missing the driver’s side mirror, according to police.

Authorities say they have located the minivan they believe was involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a man seriously injured near West Chester University.The accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block of South High Street, just south of Rosedale Avenue in West Goshen Township.21-year-old Sayid Murphy of Philadelphia was struck by the minivan, leaving him seriously injured.He was taken to Paoli Hospital where he remains listed in critical but stable condition.Police say the striking vehicle, a dark colored Chrysler Town & Country, was observed on surveillance video fleeing the scene headed southbound on South High Street.Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the West Goshen Township Police Department.
