Lebanon County woman and son die in crash

Pennsylvania State police are investigating a crash that killed 26-year-old Mariam A. Newswanger and her 3-year-old son, both from Neumanstown, Lebanon County. Police say Newswanger and her son were killed on impact. Police say the accident occurred at the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 164 and Mllerstown Road in North Woodbury Township, Blair County just after 5:30 a.m. The driver of the pickup truck, 41-year-old Richard D. Nicodemus of Martinsburg, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the minivan and remaining passengers were taken to UPMC Altoona, according to police.

Mother, son killed, 4 hurt in central Pennsylvania car crash

The Altoona Mirror reported that 26-year-old Mariam Newswanger of Newmanstown and the boy died at the scene of the crash on Route 164 in Blair County early Saturday morning. The driver, 28-year-old Wesley Newswanger, a 5-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy also were injured badly in the wreck, and were listed in critical condition at a hospital. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.
