The accident that killed Sophie Campbell, 12, of the Morris area, occurred after Devon M. Greeley, 24, of Wellsboro, passed a water truck on state Route 287 in a no-passing zone, state police said.

Devon M. Greeley, 25, of Wellsboro, apologized Monday before he was sentenced in county court on charges of accident involving death or injury and involuntary manslaughter to which he had pleaded guilty.
