Crash kills two people near Burns.

BURNS, Ore. - A crash near Burns killed two people on Monday, Oregon State Police said. OSP said troopers were dispatched at around 12:30 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 20 near milepost 166, just east of Burns. The pickup's driver and the Cadillac's passenger suffered critical injuries and were airlifted to Saint Alphonsus in Nampa. The Cadillac's driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup's driver died at the hospital.

Police say the crash happened Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 20 when the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet pickup tried to pass a commercial vehicle while heading east.

Heath had been driving a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck heading east when he tried to pass a commercial vehicle and struck Kowalski’s westbound 2000 Cadillac.
