Bend motorcyclist seriously hurt in SUV collision
An investigation found that Duncan Brewer was riding his black 2006 Harley Davidson heading west on Skyliners. A gray 2007 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Colleen Maguire, 55, also of Bend, was stopped at a stop sign on Crosby Drive at Skyliners, facing south.
Duncan Brewer was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with an SUV whose driver, Colleen Maguire, had pulled out onto Skyliners Road in front of him. An investigation found that Duncan Brewer was riding his black 2006 Harley Davidson heading west on Skyliners when Maguire made a left-hand turn in front of Brewer. The motorcyclist tried to avoid the collision with evasive action into the oncoming lane but could not avoid being struck by the Maguire. Brewer, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Bend with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol were determined to not be contributing factors.
