Victim ID’d in fatal motorcycle crash

“The motorcycle shot across the turn and into the guardrail,” said Randall Ritenour, who said it looked to him like the motorcycle was going too fast along the curve.

Investigators believe Ambuehl was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but it may not have been secured. Police say there was no evidence at the scene of alcohol use. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

A motorcyclist who was killed in a wreck this morning was identified as Jeffrey Ambuehl, 55, of North Dakota. Ambuehl was heading west on Roxanna-New Burlington Road in Spring Valley when he exited the right side of the road on a curve and collided with a guardrail. A motorcycle helmet was located at the crash site but it isn't known if he was wearing it when the crash occurred. He was pronounced deceased at the crash site. A witness described what he saw.
