Two teens killed in Wilmington crash, troopers say

The crash remains under investigation. Troopers said they did not suspect alcohol or drug use. They asked anyone with information contact the Wilmington Highway Patrol Post at 937-382-2551.

At about 9:10 p.m. a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Kimberly Sears, 17, of Wilmington, with passenger Kehte Little, 17, of Sabina, was southbound on New Martinsburg Road and did not negotiate a curve, according to the OSHP. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree, then overturned and landed in a creek on its top.

According to Branden Jackman of the Paint Creek EMS/Fire District, the call came in at about 9:12 p.m. to Paint Creek’s Station 1 in Greenfield. Jackman said the ditch was full of water and the passenger compartment of the vehicle was submerged.

Community mourns Clinton Co. teens killed in Wednesday night crash

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Wednesday on New Martinsburg Road near Ohio 28 in Highland County.

Neighbors who live nearby said they rushed to the scene as soon as they heard the crash.

“We like to help,” James Gingerich said. His son was one of the first to respond to the scene. Gingerich says his son was on his way home from church when he came upon the accident.
