FBI agents John Stack, 29, and Bryce Eastlick, 28, killed when boat crashes into barge on Ohio River near Cincinnati

Two agents with the Cincinnati office of the FBI were killed late Thursday when their 19-foot pleasure boat slammed into a massive barge traveling down the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Newport late Thursday. The men, who were in their 30s, were found dead on the boat when fire crews arrived. They likely died on or close to impact. 

A fatal crash occurred on the river Thursday after a barge collided with a boat, according to officials. Emergency crews said two people died in the incident. 

The barge was going northbound and the boat was heading southbound when the collision happened. All the lights were on both vessels. The barge was moved near the Covington Landing.

Cincinnati Fire said rescue crews were dispatched on a report of a disabled boat near the Serpentine Wall. When they arrived, crews found John Stack, 29, and Bryce Eastlick, 28, dead in the boat.  

Two FBI employees are dead after a pleasure boat hit a barge late Thursday night on the Ohio River.

The boat was heading toward the barge, said Hank Patton, director of law enforcement for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. Then it made a 90-degree turn in front of the barge.
