Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash identified

Authorities said the crash happened in the 1200 block of North Church Street near Piedmont Way just before 10 p.m. North Church Street was closed for several hours while an investigation was completed. A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night in Burlington. Investigators said the victim, Francisco Ngual, 59, died at the scene of the crash. Officials said they believe a white car hit Ngual and likely has heavy damage to the front end of the vehicle.
