Hudson River Tugboat Collision Leaves 1 Dead, At Least 1 Missing
According to the Coast Guard, the 90-foot tugboat, called The Specialist, struck a barge at about 5:20 a.m. this morning. The Coast Guard's New York station sent a 45-foot rescue boat to the scene, and at about 5:30 a.m., a first responder recovered one of the three people who went under. The AP reportsthat this person died on the way to the hospital.
Two people were still missing at the time, and several search crews from various agencies were canvassing the area.
