Hit-Run Driver Strikes and Kills Man in Wheelchair

Authorities are searching for a driver on Long Island who struck and killed a man in a wheelchair and then drove off Friday night. According to police, 40-year-old Michael Dora was in the right lane of Great East Neck Road in West Babylon when he was hit by a car driving south at around 9:15 p.m. Dora was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police believe the suspect’s car is dark-colored with front end damage.
