State Police say Trooper Joshua Jenkins failed to yield at a stop sign in Ausable, New York. Autopsy results say Chauvin died from a broken neck.
New York State Police trooper Joshua Lenkins was on routine patrol on Telegraph Road in Keeseville at approximately 7:15 am when he allegedly struck a vehicle driven by Jennifer Chauvin of Peru. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two sons, ages three and six, were in the car when the accident occurred, and they are being treated at CVPH for non-life threatening injuries. New York State Police and the Clinton Country District Attorney's Office are investigating the accident.
