Terrick Lucas Johnson, 16, Keanu Daniel Amsk, 16, and Branson Wayne Phelps, 17, dead and two injured in pickup crash with semi truck on Highway 223 in Fort Benton, Montana

Three people have died and two others have been injured in a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a semitrailer in north-central Montana. Montana Highway Patrol trooper Chris Baker says the truck driver said the GMC Sierra pickup crossed over into his northbound lane. Baker says the occupants of the pickup truck appeared to be teen boys. A fourth person in the pickup and the truck driver were taken to area hospitals. The truck driver had non-life threatening injuries.

  Stevenson Wilke Funeral home said the victims were Terrick Lucas Johnson and Keanu Daniel Amsk, both 16, and 17-year-old Branson Wayne Phelps. Montana Highway Patrol trooper Chris Baker says the driver of a semi-trailer said a pickup truck crossed into his lane on a curve in Highway 223 on Saturday morning. The Chouteau County sheriff's office tells the Great Falls Tribune he remained hospitalized on Monday morning.

Students at Broadwater High School in Townsend are mourning the loss of three of their friends killed in a car crash over the weekend. Students at the high school broke into groups during the day to talk about the wreck. Memorial services will be held throughout this week starting Tuesday, and a service will be held at the high school gym Thursday at 3:30 p.m. But everybody's kind of shell-shocked and just really not knowing what to say," said Clint Watson, a teacher at Broadwater High School. The driver of a semi-trailer says the teen's pickup crossed into his lane, hitting the oncoming truck.
