Hollister woman drowns during float trip

Authorities say the accident happened near Camp Yokum Road, about a mile and a half east of Galena.

A canoe trip resulted in the death of a woman Sunday afternoon when a canoe on the James River crashed with a tree. Angela Fire, 61, got trapped in the roots of the tree after she was ejected from the canoe when it overturned. Fire's husband was also in the canoe with her at the time of the tragic accident.
