Seibert said the pedestrian was on the highway when the accident occurred. "We have a couple of theories about why the person was in traffic, but it's under investigation," Seibert said.

A pedestrian died Friday morning after being hit by an 18-wheeler on I-10 near the 55-mile mark. The accident occured around 8:53 a.m. on Friday, October 17 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
