Young woman seriously injured in roll-over crash; driver suspected of drunken driving
Officers were dispatched near Biddle and Cooper streets at 5:27 a.m. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies assisted Jackson Police at the scene.
Woman arraigned, charged with drunken driving causing serious injuries to 19-year-old
Latoya Smith was arraigned Friday, March 6, in Jackson County District Court and is free from jail on a $5,000 bond.
Sometime before police were dispatched at 5:27am, a woman in her 20's was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was driving a car near Biddle Street when she lost control and rolled the car off of the road way, damaging a utility pole in the process. A 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was severely injured and is currently in critical condition at the hospital. Check back for updates including the names of those involved.
