Hamilton HS student among 2 killed in West Olive crash

Police say the car was traveling westbound on Stanton Street at a high rate of speed, ran a stop sign at 120th Avenue and hit a tree around 12:30 a.m.

A resident heard a loud noise outside of her house and called police after discovering the car had crashed in her lawn. The car was split into four pieces.

The group sat in a circle of chairs in the church’s gym on June 11, passing around a microphone and recalling memories of Gillespie, some breaking down into tears. The picture that the stories painted of the young man was that of a restless but kind and generous heart.

There are signs of Nickie everywhere on the Naber family farm. From her animals — a dog, a cat and a donkey — to her projects, like the Chevy she was fixing up. They were all reminders of a happy girl with big dreams.
