The driver of the car was Learis Lez Gonzales, 27, of 178 Florence Rd., in the Florence section of Northampton, Duguay said.
The victim in Friday’s fatal accident was a Holyoke resident and a member of the Air National Guard’s 104th Fighter Wing based at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield. Patrick Rudd, 32, of West Franklin Street, was killed in the 9:30 p.m. accident that involved two vehicles and a motorcycle Rudd was driving. The crash happened on Route 5 near the intersection of Bemis Road. Several other occupants of the cars were brought to the hospital by ambulance but none had serious injuries. The cause of the crash is being investigated. Rudd was a member of the Air National Guard based at Barnes.
