"For reasons still under investigation," police said, Noel's SUV "went out of control" and crossed into oncoming traffic.

22-year-old killed after a TT accident on the Mass Pike

Traffic was moving slow for most of the day on both sides of the Massachusetts Turnpike between Exits 8 and 9, following a deadly Monday morning accident between a small SUV and a tractor trailer.

Massachusetts State Police say that 22-year-old Meaghan Noel of Taunton was eastbound on the Mass Pike in a 2009 Honda Element when at about 8:40 a.m. the SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a westbound tractor-trailer operated by Sandra Debonis of Warren, Rhode Island near the border of Warren and Brimfield. Noel was ejected from her vehicle and declared dead at the scene. Debonis was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center's University Campus in Worcester. Her condition is unknown at this time.
