2 killed, 7 injured when SUV crashes into Sweet Tomatoes in Newton
The incident was reported just after 6 p.m. at the Sweet Tomatoes Pizza restaurant at 1279 Washington Street.
Officials said the SUV did not stop when it traveled down Chestnut Street, crossed Washington Street and crashed into the restaurant.
SUV crashes into busy restaurant, killing diners
A co-owner of the restaurant told WBZ-TV they are "devastated" and confirmed that employees were among the injured.
Witnesses say the SUV came barreling down a hill and failed to stop at an intersection, before plowing into the restaurant.
