Peter Curtis, 32, and 10-year-old girl injured after their car intentionally crashes into a pole on Pleasant Street in Framingham, Massachusetts

A Framingham town employee is currently being held without bail after police say he tried to kill two children by crashing his car into a pole. Prosecutors say Peter Curtis, 32, of Medway, picked up his 10-year-old niece and 15-year-old nephew at their home on Monday to give them a ride to their mother’s workplace. According to the police report, Curtis, who works for the Framingham Parks and Recreation Department, warned the children just before he crashed. “Buckle up, we’re going on a death run,” prosecutors claim Curtis said. Curtis was allegedly traveling 100 mph when he slammed into a pole on Pleasant Street. Both children were wearing seatbelts, but the 10-year-old girl did suffer serious injuries. Curtis was also injured in the crash. He’s charged with assault with intent to kill, negligent operation and reckless endangerment of a child. An attorney for Curtis says the crash was an accident. A judge has ordered Curtis held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
