Brockton woman charged in hit-and-run accident

Police followed a tip from an observer at the accident scene who got the vehicle’s license plate number and responded to Hartley Avenue, where officers found a gray Honda CRV in a driveway with exterior damage.
Amy Laycob, 26, of Randolph, injured in hit and run pedestrian accident, when she was struck, near 789 East Ashland Street by The Boulders apartment complex, close to the Abington line, by Kathleen Casey, 53, of 56 Hartley Ave., Brockton, MA.  Casey was arrested and charged  with drunken driving causing serious injury, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.  Laycob was transported to a Boston hospital after the accident and was in critical condition at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Thursday.  High winds and torrential rains hit the area at the time of the accident, causing flooding and power outages.
