One killed, several injured in northern Maine crash

One person has died and five others were injured in a vehicle crash in the northern Maine town of Stockholm. State Police say the driver of a SUV failed to stop at a stop sign on Route 161 on Friday night and collided with another vehicle, causing it to go off the road, into a ditch and to roll on its side. Authorities say a passenger, 24-year-old Jessie Bouchard of Fort Kent, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The drivers and three other passengers were transported to hospitals for treatment. Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

A Fort Kent woman is dead after a two-car accident Friday night on Route 161 in Stockholm. The driver and passenger of the car travelling on Lake Street were later released. Police say a car traveling westbound on Lake Street drove through the stop sign at the highway and crashed into another car with four people inside, including a two-year-old child. One passenger of the car that was hit, 24-year-old Jessie Bouchard of Fort Kent, was ejected after the car rolled over into a ditch on the opposite side of the road. The other five people involved were transported to Cary Medical Center for treatment.
