A Maine woman involved in a fatal crash in Monmouth last year has pleaded guilty to causing a death while her license was suspended or revoked, and other offenses. Prosecutors say Marcellino drifted into the wrong lane, and then tried to return to the travel lane, resulting in a collision. Prosecutors say Marcellino's right to have a driver's license was suspended at the time of the March 2014 crash. The Kennebec Journal reported 24-year-old Alyssa Marcellino, of Winthrop, entered the plea on Monday at the Capital Judicial Center. Marcellino told the court she understood what she was doing and the rights she has given up.

Potter's 2006 Hyundai Eleantra was westbound when it collided with a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer SUV driven eastbound by Alyssa Marcellino, 22, of Winthrop. The accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. near Halls Collision Center on Route 202 in North Monmouth. Potter and Marcellino were taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with non-life-threatening injuries, police Chief Kevin Mulherin wrote in a statement.
