Gary Chadburn, 46, and Thomas Ryan, 79, killed, and Matthew Bussiere, 27, injured in SUV-minivan crash on Route 4 in Livermore, Maine

Two cars — a minivan and an SUV — collided head-on, said Lt. Glenn Holt of the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department. The crash was reported at 12:07 p.m. near 1273 Federal Road in Livermore. A roughly mile-long stretch of the road, which is on Route 4, was closed from Boothby Road to Norton Road. It was expected to remain closed until at least 5 p.m., Holt said. The crash seemed to have occurred when one of the vehicles swerved into the oncoming lane, he said.
