16 year old fails to stop at stop sign, killed east of Lake Charles

The crash is still being investigated, and toxicology results are pending. Police said Trahan and Parsley-Istre were wearing their seat belts.
A 16-year-old girl was killed in a crash Saturday night on U.S. 90 just east of Lake Charles. Britney Trahan, of Lake Charles, was drivng north on Boy’s Village Road in a 2012 Toyota Scion when she ran a stop sign before turning onto U.S. 90 at about 7:15 p.m. Sharlene Parsley-Istre, 52, of Jennings, who was driving east in a pickup truck on U.S. 90, slammed into Trahan’s car. Trahan was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Parsley-Istre was taken to a local hospital and listed as having sustained minor injuries.
