Four killed in single-vehicle accident in New Iberia

Iberia Parish Sheriff'€™s deputies are investigating a single vehicle accident in New Iberia that has resulted in the death of four people and injuries to a 7-year-old, KATC-TV has reported. The accident happened just before 5 p.m. at South Lewis Street and Connie Rue Road. The 7-year-old occupant of the vehicle was air lifted to a Lafayette hospital and is being treated for their injuries.  

8-month-old, three adults killed in New Iberia car crash, newspaper reports

An 8-month-old child is among at least four people who were killed in a car crash in New Iberia on Saturday evening, The (Lafayette) Advertiser reports. A 49-year-old man lost control of the vehicle he was driving on Lewis Street at Connie Rue Street about 5 p.m., the newspaper reports. The vehicle left the roadway, and the driver was ejected and killed. Two adults and the 8-month-old child died later at hospitals. A 7-year-old remains in the hospital.

The 7-year-old occupant of a single vehicle crash on Saturday in New Iberia that killed four people, including a baby, has been released from the hospital. 

One of four New Iberia crash victims identified

Richard Rodriquez, 34, of New Iberia, died from multi-systems trauma, according to the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office.  The names of the remaining crash victims have not been released because officials are still trying to contact their family.
