Two die, one injured in I-10 crash west of Sorrento

Two people died and one person was seriously injured in a crash Wednesday evening on Interstate 10 west of Sorrento. The single vehicle crash took place around 6:30 p.m., said Trooper First Class Bryan Lee, Louisiana State Police spokesman. Police suspect speed was a factor in the wreck, though the incident is still under investigation, Lee said

The driver of the truck, James Rodgers, 25, of San Jacinto, and a rear-seat passenger, Wanda Kinchloe, 58, of Hemet, were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office, said Trooper First Class Bryan Lee, a spokesman for the State Police.
