Prairieville man, charged in fatal December Dutchtown crash, now faces domestic battery count

A Prairieville man out on bail after his arrest in a fatal December crash in Ascension Parish that killed a 15-year-old Dutchtown High School student was arrested again on allegations he battered the mother of his child in a domestic dispute.

The crash occurred between L. Landry Road and Coon Trap Road on Louisiana Highway 74 in Gonzales shortly before 7:40 a.m. Three Dutchtown High School students were on their way to school and were about a mile away when their car crashed head-on into another car that was driving the wrong way in their lane. One of the students, Claire Carline, a freshman who is reported to have been either 14 or 15, was killed. She was a passenger in the back seat. The other two students, her sisters, suffered moderate injuries. Camille Carline, 17, was driving and Colleen Carline, 16, was the front-seat passenger. The wrong-way driver, Dwight P. Perrilloux III, 19, also received moderate injuries and was booked on suspicion of vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular negligent injuring, first offense DWI, and reckless operation.
