A crash report identified the driver of the SUV as Mark Groom, 56, who was killed in the crash. The other victims were identified as Margaret Groom, 56, and Richard Nieweg, 85, all of Lee’s Summit.

Police said 56-year-old Mark Groom, 56-year-old Margaret Groom and 84-year-old Richard Nieweg died in the crash. HAYS, Kan. ' Six members of a Lee's Summit, Missouri family were involved in a tragic accident late Monday night. Around 11 p.m. a vehicle caring six passengers was traveling westbound on I-70 when it cut off another driver. Three children, two six-year-old boys and a 10-year-old girl, survived. Witnesses said the vehicle then spun around crossing both westbound lanes of traffic and ended up rolling multiple times.

GRAINFIELD ' Three members of a Kansas City area family have been killed in a vehicle crash in western Kansas. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident occurred Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Gove County when the family's SUV rolled over into a ditch. The patrol says 56-year-old Mark A. Groom and his wife, 56-year-old Margaret K. Groom were killed, along with another family member, 85-year-old Richard E. Nieweg. The family is from Lee's Summit. Three children in the vehicle survived the accident and were hospitalized in Wichita.
