School bus full of students rolls over in Brown County north of Horton

A fully loaded schoolbus was reported to have rolled over Wednesday morning about five miles north of Horton in Brown County, Kansas Highway Patrol officials said. The crash was reported shortly after 8 a.m. near 170th Road and US-73 highway. Emergency personnel from various locations in northeast Kansas were heading to the scene.

22 children sustain minor injuries in Hiawatha school bus rollover

Twenty-two children and a bus driver were sent to hospitals in Hiawatha and Horton Wednesday morning with minor injuries after a rollover accident involving a school bus transporting about 40 children. About half of the children with injuries were sent to Hiawatha Community Hospital and Horton Community Hospital. Emergency personnel from various locations in northeast Kansas headed to the scene, and neighboring Horton USD 430 sent a school bus in case it could be of assistance transporting children. The school district transported another eight to school for their parents to pick them up there. Hargrove said the students were in grades K-12 and were on their way to school when the accident occurred.
