Lawrence man transported by Life Star after crashing vehicle in Jefferson County

A Lawrence man was transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center by Life Star helicopter after driving off a road and hitting an embankment in Jefferson County. The crash occurred around 1:18 p.m., said Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig. Kerr was driving a Toyota 4Runner when it crashed on Kansas Highway 16, west of Wellman Road, Herrig said.
