Two people injured in crash on U.S.-24 in Pottawatomie County

Two people were injured in a two-car crash Thursday evening on U.S.-24, according to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff'€™s Office. Raymond Brase, of Wamego, was driving a Chevy Cobalt westbound on U.S.-24 and attempted to make a left turn onto Salzer Road at about 6:45 p.m., according to a news release. During the turn, a Ford Taurus driven by Jim Burns, of Wamego, struck the Cobalt. Burns was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, and Carole Brase, a passenger in the Cobalt, was air lifted to a Topeka hospital, according to the release. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
